About autism & ABA therapy

What is autism?

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition that affects how a child communicates, interacts socially, and processes information. Autism is a spectrum, meaning symptoms and abilities vary widely from one child to another.

Who can benefit from ABA therapy?

ABA therapy is most commonly used to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), but it can also benefit individuals with other developmental challenges. It is especially effective when started early and tailored to each individual's needs.

What does a typical ABA therapy session look like?

A typical session includes 1:1 instruction with a trained ABA therapist, using play-based or structured tasks to work on goals such as communication, social interaction, behavior regulation, and daily living skills. Sessions may occur at home, in a clinic, or in community settings.

What age range do you serve?

We work with children ages 1–17 years of age.

How is autism diagnosed?

A formal autism diagnosis is typically made by a licensed pediatrician, psychologist, or developmental specialist. The evaluation may include parent interviews, developmental history, observation of behavior, and standardized tools such as the ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule).

What insurance do you accept?

We accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Medicaid options where applicable. Our team can help verify your benefits and guide you through the approval process.

About working with Inspire

How do I get started with Inspire Center for Autism?

Contact us by phone, email, or through the website. We'll send a referral packet, verify your insurance benefits or discuss private-pay options, collect intake paperwork, and schedule a comprehensive assessment. Once approved, sessions begin.

Do you offer in-home therapy as well as in-center?

Yes. We offer in-center ABA therapy at our Mesa clinic, in-home ABA therapy where our therapists come to you, and a hybrid of both. Which setting suits your child best depends on their goals — ask us and we'll talk it through.

Which areas do you serve?

We are based in Mesa, Arizona and serve families across Mesa, Tempe, Apache Junction, Gilbert, Chandler, Florence, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and the surrounding Phoenix Valley.

Who supervises my child's therapy?

Every program is designed and overseen by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) licensed in Arizona. Day-to-day sessions are delivered one-to-one by Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) working under that supervision.

What are your hours?

Mon – Fri 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM · Sat – Sun Closed. Drop-off, pick-up and scheduling hours are flexible Monday through Friday.

Is your facility certified?

Yes. We are a certified facility through the Arizona Department of Health Services. Our staff are background-checked and fingerprint cleared, and every Registered Behavior Technician on our team is properly registered and trained.
